Iago: The Green Eyed Monster explores the origin story of Shakespeare’s notorious villain, Iago, reimagined as a woman.

Taking place moments after Iago has lost her expected promotion to Lieutenant to the young, unseasoned Cassio, Iago sings a high-energy rock song incorporating lines from Shakespeare’s text, illuminating the inequity and microaggressions she has experienced throughout her time as Ensign in the form of AR holograms.

As the song progresses, Iago is overwhelmed with the toxic masculinity of her peers and consumed by her own jealousy and rage, ultimately transforming into “the green-eyed monster” destroying everyone and everything on her path to vengeance.

Crafting Shakespeare In The Metaverse​

To create Iago: The Green Eyed Monster, JuVee Productions captured real-time performances using XSENS suits with Unity, and partnered with the Award–winning XR animation studio, 3dar, and spatial audio innovators, Q Department.
